A gift from The Eli and Edythe Broad Foundation has established the Eli and Edythe Broad Innovation Awards in Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine at USC. This year, we are seeking innovative proposals to identify endogenous mechanisms of tissue repair or to develop repair strategies directed by endogenous repair processes. Awardees will receive $100,000 of direct support and an additional $20,000 of support for covering services in relevant core facilities at the Eli and Edythe Broad Center for Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Research at USC (stemcell.usc.edu/services).
Direct support may cover personnel salaries (excluding PI), supplies, travel (up to $2,000) and minor equipment (up to $5,000). All USC faculty with PI privileges are eligible to apply. A goal of the award is to cement new collaborative interactions and seed new funding opportunities in stem cell research and regenerative medicine across USC. Multi-investigator proposals, which demonstrate complementary expertise, are encouraged.
A five-page proposal is due by 5 p.m. on September 16, 2016. Award decisions will be made by November 1, 2016, with the initiation of funding expected on January 1, 2017. Funding is for one year only. One award will be given.
