2024 Call for Applications: CIRM Clinical Research Fellowship in Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine

We have two 1-year positions with a 1-year renewal option available for clinical trainees interested in conducting research related to stem cell biology and/or regenerative medicine in one of the leading labs at USC. The positions are open to current clinical residents, clinical fellows, or individuals who completed their MDs. No prior research experience is needed. Funding will begin in September 2024.

Financial support

  • $77,000 (small % increase each year) + $12,000 health insurance +
    $3,000 travel/supplies

Two step application process

A) Send your letter of intent.

  2. Biosketch including the following information as bullet points:
  • Full name and contact
  • Undergraduate school, month/year graduated, GPA
  • Medical/dental degree (if applicable), institution, month/year awarded
  • Any current or previous fellowships
  • Any prior research experience
  • Current visa status
  1. Two letters of reference

B) Laboratory matches and development of research project aims

We will let you know on June 21th whether your letter of intent passed the pre-selection criteria. In case of a positive review of your initial submission, our team will work with you to identify a laboratory that matches your interests. You are expected to develop, in consultation with the PI of your laboratory of interest, a 2-page plan summarizing your research project and aims, which should be submitted by July 29th. The final decision about your acceptance will be made on August 12th, 2024.
