Joe Hacia receives the Kaiser-Permanente Excellence in Teaching Award

Joe Hacia, an Associate Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine, has received the Kaiser-Permanente Excellence in Teaching Award for the Basic Science Years. This is the Keck School of Medicine’s highest honor for basic science educators involved in medical student education. It is voted on by the KSOM graduating class of medical students. The recipient participates in hooding the graduating medical students at the MD Commencement Ceremony. Hacia has received this award in the 3 consecutive years (2021, 2022, and 2023).
