Dr. Chen’s research focuses on defining risk genes and developing precision, gene-directed strategies for patients with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other neurodevelopmental disorders. His lab uses organoids, organs-on-chips and other technologies to model the development of the brain as well as the gastrointestinal system, one of the most common co-morbidities in ASD.
