Michael Bonaguidi contributes brain power to stem cell research at USC

As the newest principal investigator to join USC’s Department of Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine, Michael Bonaguidi studies individual neural stem cells within the adult brain. These stem cells have the potential to spawn more stem cells, or to form new neurons and their critical supporting cells, called astroglia. Most importantly, these stem cells offer intriguing possibilities for treating a variety of symptoms associated withAlzheimer’s disease and mood disorders.
