Using advanced sequencing technology, USC Stem Cell faculty member Wange Lu, in collaboration with Kai Wang of the USC Zilkha Neurogenetics Institute, explores the mystery of pluripotency by mapping out the interaction between DNA elements using genetic loci of two important pluripotency genes, OCT4 and SOX2.
Their finding shows that chromosome elements can interact transiently and dynamically with long-range target regions on the same chromosome or a different chromosome.
